Pilot Training

The Career Pilot Path

The general path to becoming a professional pilot is ususally as follows:

Private Pilot License > Instrument Rating > Commercial License > Multi-Engine Rating > Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) > Certified Flight Instructor - Instrument (CFII) - Multi Engine Instructor (MEI) > Airline Transport Pilot (ATP)

Private Pilot License

  • Fundamentals and foundation to flying
  • A certificate that allows anyone to fly recreationally
  • Gives the tools and resources to make safe and educated aviation decisions.
  • Builds many of the skills that are required for the commercial certificate and to be a professional pilot.
  • Part 61 course, however the syllabus structure mirrors the same Part 141 syllabus that we use in our Part 141 courses.
  • Syllabus is broken down into three main stages, the first includes training up to solo, then navigation principles and finally cross-countries and checkride preparation.

Instrument Rating

  • The instrument rating adds on the ability to fly through clouds to your private pilot certificate.
  • The most technical training course.
  • Gives the tools and resources to make safe and educated aviation decisions regarding more advanced weather concepts and events.
  • Syllabus is broken down into three main stages as well, instrument basic attitude flying first, then IFR navigation principles and instrument approaches, finally instrument cross-countries.
  • All locations have approved simulators that can be used to acquire training experience and proficiency.

Commercial Pilot License

  • Refine the skills that you have learned from the previous training curriculum.
  • Gain advanced aeronautical knowledge and justify aeronautical decision making.
  • Completing this certificate allows a pilot to fly for hire.
  • Fly our Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) to meet the FAA’s requirement for the certificate.

Certified Flight Instructor (CFI)

  • Allows you to get paid to teach and share your aviation passion with others.
  • A great way to gain aviation experience.
  • The most common way commercial pilots and individuals who complete their flight training build hours.
  • Learn how to teach, evaluate and motivate your potential clients.
  • Learn how to fly from the right seat while practicing instruction.
  • Part 61 course

Certified Flight Instructor (CFII)

  • Allows you to teach and evaluate instrument students and pilots operating under instrument flight rules.
  • Learn to develop training scenarios that will develop student’s aeronautical decision making
  • A great way to maintain instrument flight rules proficiency for your own professional development
  • Allows you to build confidence teaching and operating in actual instrument conditions.
  • Part 61 course

Multi-Engine Rating - Commercial and Instrument

  • Fundamentals and foundation to flying Multi-Engine Airplanes
  • A rating that allows anyone to fly Multi-Engine airplanes in a commercial capacity and in IMC
